The Industrial Corridor Next Door
TRIC has grown into one of the largest data center and industrial parks in the West, and it sits a short drive east of our Reno office. Hyperscale and colocation data halls, distribution centers, and manufacturing plants there all need structural engineering that keeps pace with construction schedules.
Our corridor work centers on anchorage and industrial structures: server racks and generators inside the data halls, metal buildings and tilt-up warehouses along I-80, and the foundations and slabs under them. Because we're close, construction-phase site visits are routine rather than an add-on.

Generators & Yard Equipment
Anchorage and pad design for generators, fuel tanks, transformers, and mechanical skids in TRIC equipment yards.
Metal Buildings
Engineer-of-record coordination with the manufacturer, plus footings, thrust resistance, and slabs for warehouses and shops at TRIC and in Fernley.
Tilt-Up & Distribution Warehouses
Structural design and tenant improvement modifications for the large distribution and manufacturing buildings along I-80.
Industrial Tenant Improvements
Mezzanines, equipment platforms, new openings, and rooftop units added to existing industrial buildings.
Construction-Phase Observations
Engineer site visits during construction for Storey County and Fernley projects — a short drive from our office.

Storey County & Fernley Permitting Knowledge
Nevada PE + SE
Palisade Engineering holds PE and SE licensure in Nevada, so the same firm can seal a rack anchorage package, a metal building foundation, or an essential-facility design.
Storey County Building Department
TRIC and McCarran projects are permitted by Storey County, which requires land use, sanitation, water, driveway access, and building plans to be addressed before a permit issues. We deliver the structural part complete.
Commercial Construction Packet & Special Inspections
Storey County publishes a commercial construction packet covering required inspections and special inspector information. Our drawings call out the special inspection items so the inspection plan lines up with the design.
City of Fernley
Fernley projects go to the City of Fernley Building Department rather than Storey or Lyon County, with submittals through the city's online permit center.

TRIC & Storey County Structural Engineering — FAQ
Who issues building permits at TRIC?
The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center is in Storey County, so TRIC and McCarran-area projects are permitted by the Storey County Community Development / Building Department, not Washoe County or the City of Reno. Fernley, on the Lyon County side of the I-80 corridor, has its own city Building Department.
What does Storey County need before it issues a building permit?
Storey County requires land use, sanitation, water, driveway access, and building plans to be addressed before a permit is issued, and it publishes separate residential and commercial construction packets that cover required inspections and special inspections. We prepare the structural drawings, calcs, and special inspection items so that part of the package is complete at submittal.
How close are you to TRIC?
Our office is in Reno, a short drive west on I-80. That means site visits, construction-phase observations, and coordination meetings at TRIC, McCarran, and Fernley are local trips, not travel days.
Do you do anchorage for data center equipment at TRIC?
Yes — it is one of our core services. We prepare Nevada PE-sealed anchorage calculations for server racks, PDUs, CRAH/CRAC units, generators, switchgear, and rooftop mechanical, using site-specific seismic parameters for the parcel. Fixed-price quotes typically come back within 24–48 hours.
Can you engineer metal buildings and warehouses in Fernley and at TRIC?
Yes. For metal buildings we act as engineer of record alongside the manufacturer: we write the design criteria, review the reaction report, and design the footings, thrust resistance, and slab for forklift and storage loads. We also handle tilt-up and conventional steel warehouses along the corridor.
